Stephen Kendrick

After serving in church ministry for 20 years, Stephen and his brothers Alex and Shannon now operate Kendrick Brothers Productions where he co- writes and produces feature films, books, and personal study resources.

While serving on staff at Sherwood Church, Stephen and his brother Alex helped establish Sherwood Pictures in 2002. The Kendricks and their church family produced FLYWHEEL for $20,000 which sold more than 1 million DVDs and has been used by business owners and churches around the world to inspire individuals to walk in integrity. Their sophomore production, FACING THE GIANTS, was an inspirational sports drama about living by faith over fear. Released in September 2006, it was in over 1,000 theaters and the DVD became the #1 product in Christian stores in 2007 - releasing in 13 languages in 57 countries. On September 26, 2008, FIREPROOF debuted in theaters. Focused on marriage and unconditional love, this movie became the #1 independent film of the year, was distributed in 75 countries, and was used by counselors and pastors to strengthen marriage. On September 30, 2011, the movie COURAGEOUS, a police-drama about the importance of fatherhood, was distributed by TriStar pictures in 1,161 theaters, garnering an A+ Cinemascore, and released in 76 countries on home video. Following, with the support of 85 churches across denominational lines in the Charlotte, NC area, WAR ROOM was released in August of 2015, garnering an A+ Cinemascore, and becoming the #1 movie at the US box office. War Room later reached #1 in weekly DVD sales in the US. Four years later, OVERCOMER, an inspirational sports drama about identity in Christ, released in theaters by Columbia / TriStar on August 23, 2019, garnering an A+ Cinemascore and 98% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2021, the Kendrick Brothers released two films: COURAGEOUS Legacy, and SHOW ME THE FATHER, their first feature- length documentary, for which Stephen served as an executive producer and co-writer. The Kendricks produced and released the true story, LIFEMARK, in theaters during September 2022. Their exciting new film, THE FORGE focuses on biblical discipleship and is scheduled for release on August 23, 2024.

Stephen speaks at marriage, filmmaking, and men’s conferences. He has spoken at churches, universities, film-festivals, corporate businesses, and on national simulcasts for Iron Sharpens Iron, LifeWay, Focus on the Family, and Revive Our Hearts.

Stephen has been interviewed by FOX and FRIENDS, CNN, ABC World News Tonight, The Washington Post, and on hundreds of radio programs. He graduated from Kennesaw State University and attended New Orleans Seminary. Stephen serves on the boards of the Fatherhood CoMission and the Christian Worldview Film Festival. He and his wife, Jill, have six children and live in Albany, Georgia.
