Lee may be most well-known for the subject of her book entitled "The Missing Piece" which attracted much media attention. Lee's "missing piece" is her daughter who was the result of Lee being raped as a teenager. Given up for adoption at birth, this grown daughter was reunited with her birthmother, Lee. Their reunion has been the subject of numerous magazine and newspaper articles - in addition to repeat appearances on TV shows such as The Sally Show, Geraldo and Donahue.
