On May 25th, 2001, Eric Alexander defied the odds as he and his team set five world records en route to guiding his blind-friend, Erik Weihenmayer to Mt. Everest’s lofty 29,035’ summit. Eric Alexander, adventurer, mountaineer and speaker is achieving his goals while playing an instrumental role in helping others to achieve their own. Just one year earlier, on one of Everest’s closest neighbors, Mt. Ama Dablam, Eric survived a near fatal fall – unfolding a series of extraordinary events: pulmonary edema, rescue from 19,000’, eight months battling pneumonia, losing his best friend, and training for the Everest climb! Gaining inspiration from his team, his lost friend, and his faith, Eric dared to dream once again and was able to play an instrumental role in this historic Everest ascent. Eric demonstrates the courage and perseverance it takes to succeed in climbing to the “top of the world”. He has since summited the highest point on six of the seven continents, and on each of these climbs assisted another who personally had to overcome physical obstacles. As a Christian, Eric’s humility and desire to help others gives evidence to his understanding that every good gift comes from the Lord. Today he continues to climb while challenging others to overcome the “Everests” in their own lives, thus redefining the limits of what we can achieve!
