New Haven born Brad Barnes has traveled the US and Europe extensively molding his Culinary career for some 26 years. He spent the first 25 years of his career in professional Restaurant, Hotel, Catering & Country Club kitchens. His tenure has brought him a wide range of experiences and expertise in all facets of the foodservice industry. Chef Barnes is well versed in a variety of cuisines and is one of America’s 59 Certified Master Chefs. Mr. Barnes’ work history has also allowed him to be involved completely throughout the “front house” operations, taking lead roles in many facilities with wines, service and bar operations. As well Brad has a full knowledge of accounting and financial procedures for the foodservice business

Serving as the National Certification Chairperson for the American Culinary Federation, Mr. Barnes has been a pivotal leader in revising culinary certification standards and the rewriting of the prestigious Certified Master Chef Exam, administered annually at the Culinary Institute of America. Brad frequently lectures on many culinary subjects to his peers and is a well-known Certified International Culinary Judge, appointed as per the auspices of the World Association of Cooks Societies. He has garnered several US and international competition medals and currently serves as an advisor for ACF Culinary Team 2004. Most recently Brad has recently co-authored a book with his partner Lisa Brefere comprehensively portraying the opportunities available to people who wish to make a living in the food industry “So You Want To Be A Chef?”.

Brad owns the Manhattan based food and beverage consulting firm B&B Solutions, specializing in “turn around” management for the hospitality industry, and culinary related educational programs for many of the nation’s top culinary learning institutes. He also designs and produces specialty Chef’s kitchen tools for the Chef Revival company.
Mr. Barnes is married and resides in Yonkers New York with his wife Laura and son Joseph.
