Former Fox News analyst Angela McGlowan announced this week that she is entering the race for Mississippi's 1st congressional district.

McGowan will square off against front-runner Alan Nunneree in the Republican primary with hopes of facing Democrat incumbent Travis Childers in November's general election.

 

"This is not a coronation," McGlowan said of choosing to take on Nunneree for the GOP nomination. "People down here want a primary."

During her time on Fox News, McGlowan was known for her outspoken conservative ideals, a reputation that she hopes will carry her through the election.
